Job Title : Test Engineer

Location: Batesville, IN – Onsite

Experience : 3+ years

Contract: 12+ months, likely extension

Job Summary

This role focuses on developing, improving, and supporting automated PCBA Functional Circuit Test systems used in manufacturing. You’ll work hands-on with schematics, fixtures, electronics hardware, and automated test software while collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams. The position blends hardware troubleshooting, fixture design, software development, and system optimization across both internal teams and contract manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Design automated PCBA functional circuit tests and related test equipment

• Build, update, and maintain test fixtures, wiring lists, schematics, and technical documentation

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare test specifications, troubleshooting guides, maintenance instructions, and system documentation

• Maintain accurate records of fixtures, testers, test results, and updates

• Support compliance with relevant medical device standards and safety requirements

Software Development & Leadership

• Gather and refine software requirements

• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and system validation

• Lead Automated Test Equipment (ATE) projects, including planning, scheduling, and delivery

Troubleshooting & Debugging

• Diagnose and repair PCBA test issues at the component and system level

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years developing and supporting PCBA Functional Circuit Test solutions

• Strong schematic reading and interpretation skills

• Hands-on experience with soldering, pogo pin socket work, wire wrap, and PCBA repair

• Familiarity with electronic components and ICs

• Experience with National Instruments hardware and instrumentation

• Proficiency with LabVIEW, TestStand, and C/C++ or related languages

• Solid test fixture design and debugging experience

• Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with major PCBA contract manufacturers (Jabil, Plexus, Flex, Sanmina, etc)

• Calibration experience

• Exposure to medical device testing environments

• Siemens DX Designer / Xpedition knowledge
