Role Overview: As a BI Developer at Stolt-Nielsen, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights that empower the business teams. Your responsibilities will include building robust data models, designing intuitive Power BI dashboards, and maintaining reliable data pipelines using Databricks and SQL. Additionally, you will be involved in advanced report development using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS/Paginated Reporting) and will contribute to the migration of legacy SSRS reporting to modern data solutions. Collaboration with stakeholders across the organization will be essential to ensure data accessibility and trust for informed decision-making. Furthermore, you will actively participate in driving the data literacy of the company by providing training, sharing best practices, and supporting a transition to self-service. Key Responsibilities: - Develop engaging Power BI dashboards and visualizations tailored to diverse business needs - Design and maintain scalable data models in Power BI and Databricks - Create and manage ETL/ELT pipelines to harmonize data from multiple sources (APIs, databases, flat files, cloud services) - Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures - Collaborate with colleagues to gather requirements and translate business questions into technical solutions - Champion data quality, governance, and security in all BI processes - Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data workflows for reliability and performance - Stay current with best practices in BI and data engineering, including new Power BI features and Databricks capabilities Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - 5+ years' experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, or related role - Advanced proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development) - Solid command of SQL (across Microsoft and cloud platforms) - Solid experience with Databricks (Workspace, Notebooks) - Experience with Azure data services and cloud-based BI solutions - Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong communication skills - Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices - Understanding of agile delivery methodologies Additional Company Information: Stolt-Nielsen is a family-founded global leader in bulk-liquid and chemical logistics, transportation, and storage.
