Business Analyst - Insurance domain Location : Bavdhan, Pune (WFO 5 days) Shift timings : 01.30 P.M. to 08.30 P.M. (this may vary) Primary Role Responsibilities The Business Analyst Migration Services is responsible for understanding how clients use their current platform today and translating that usage into clear, actionable functional requirements for migration to the new platform. This role ensures that business processes, configuration, reporting, and user expectations are preservedor intentionally improvedduring migrations, while clearly documenting impacts and decisions. Working closely with Project Managers, QA engineers and technical engineers, the Business Analyst helps to ensure that every client migration meets Client's quality and performance standards. Essential Duties: As a Business Analyst in the Migration Services Team your essential duties will include: Analyze client usage and business processes Assess how clients use their current platform across workflows, configuration, and reporting Identify business-critical processes, edge cases, and client-specific behaviors Distinguish between standard usage and custom or workaround-driven usage Define functional migration requirements Translate current system usage into functional requirements for the target platform Define expected behavior post-migration, including accepted changes and improvements Document assumptions, constraints, and client-specific decisions Support reporting and analytics definition Document reporting requirements based on actual client usage Define metric definitions, filters, and business rules for key reports Work closely with Analytics Engineers to ensure reporting intent is correctly implemented Validate functional outcomes Support QA by reviewing test scenarios and expected results Participate in functional validation of migrated workflows and reporting Confirm that outcomes align with documented requirements and client expectations Support client communication and decision-making Act as the functional point of contact for clients during discovery and migration Explain functional differences between legacy and target platforms Support clients in prioritizing requirements and making informed trade-offs Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement Maintain clear functional documentation (requirements, mappings, impact assessments) Capture lessons learned and recurring patterns across migration programs Contribute to standard discovery templates and best practices Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Bachelors degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. 6+ years' experience in business analysis within software delivery, system implementation, or migration projects. Proven ability to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements based on business processes and actual system usage. Experience in creating and maintaining business requirements documents (BRDs), functional design documents (FDDs), process flows, and solution documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex workflows, configurations, and reporting requirements, and recommend practical solutions. Hands-on experience writing user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios to support successful solution delivery. Self-motivated and capable of working independently, demonstrating strong ownership, accountability, and initiative throughout the project lifecycle. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills, with experience conducting workshops, interviews, and requirements validation sessions. Ability to balance business needs and client expectations while working within platform capabilities and technical constraints. Experience working in client-facing, delivery-oriented environments and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including QA/ Dev/ Analytics/Config/Data/ Product Management and Project Management. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of ETL processes, data migration, and third-party system integrations. Familiarity with GRC, risk management, insurance, or other regulated industry domains.
