Software Test Engineer

As a Software Development Engineer in Test at our company, you will play a crucial role in both automated and manual testing for highly visible customer-facing software used by our top clients. Your versatility, curiosity, and creativity will be key as you tackle complex technical challenges and collaborate with various teams in a fast-paced environment. An ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with highly complex systems involving hardware, software, and firmware in the electrical and power domains. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead for Test, QA and software development teams, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and develop detailed test cases. - Conduct manual and automation feasibility analysis, design, and implementation of test cases using a Python/Squish automation framework. - Gain a deep understanding of the products and systems under test, including hardware, software, and electronics. - Manage multiple priorities effectively and navigate the balance between timelines, quality, and features. - Proactively communicate issues and risks, ask questions, and provide recommendations for improvements. Qualifications Required: - Hands-on experience in Software Testing and Test Automation, including UI Automation. - Proficiency in Python, object-oriented design, software design principles, and automated testing best practices. - Familiarity with JIRA and Git. - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration. - Willingness to learn new skills and stay updated with the latest technologies and tools in test automation. If you have experience in basic electronics, microcontroller programming, bus communications, or visual, performance, Firmware, and/or Hardware testing, it would be considered a plus. Additionally, any Java development experience or the ability to quickly learn new programming languages beyond Python will be advantageous. Education: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
