Position: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat (on-site) Experience: 8-10 years Department: Design & R&D Preferred Quali cations Bachelor s / Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Product Design Experience in IoT, environmental monitoring, or industrial equipment is a plus Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the design and development of complex hardware and IoT-based products. The role involves leading the mechanical design team, ensuring fast and high-quality execution, and delivering production-ready products that meet industrial standards and certi cations. Key Responsibilities Lead and guide the mechanical design team to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery Drive end-to-end product realization from concept to production for hardware and IoT devices Establish and improve design workflows and processes to increase speed and efficiency Conduct design reviews, identify risks, and solve complex engineering challenges Review and validate 2D drawings and mechanical documentation Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and ensure production feasibility Work on plastic injection molding, sheet metal design, and Die casting for production-ready components Design for IP67/IP68-rated enclosures, ensuring durability and sealing performance Support and manage certification processes (ATEX, CE, ISO, etc.) Collaborate closely with industrial design, electronics, and firmware teams Manage vendor coordination, material sourcing, and manufacturing partners Conduct patent studies / FTO awareness during design development Identify opportunities for innovation in design, usability, and manufacturing Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies Required Skills & Expertise Strong experience in mechanical product design for hardware devices Deep knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal, and manufacturing processes Experience designing rugged, outdoor, or industrial products (IP-rated) Familiarity with ATEX, CE, and ISO certi cation standards Strong understanding of DFM, DFA, tolerancing, and material selection Hands-on experience with SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools) Ability to review and create detailed engineering drawings (2D & 3D) Knowledge of patents / design validation processes Simulation knowledge (thermal, structural) is a plus Leadership & Behavioral Competencies Visionary Leadership: Ability to guide the team with clear technical direction Strategic Thinking: Understands product lifecycle from design to market Strong Communicator: Clearly conveys design ideas across teams Problem Solver: Tackles challenges with analytical and creative thinking Detail-Oriented: Ensures high precision in design and execution User-Centric Mindset: Designs with real-world use and conditions in mind Proactive & Self-Driven: Takes ownership and drives projects independently Collaborative: Works effectively across multidisciplinary teams Adaptable: Comfortable in fast-paced and evolving environments Ownership: Responsible for delivering high-quality, production-ready products Benefits: Work on cutting-edge environmental monitoring products Opportunity to lead and in uence hardware product development Collaborative environment across design, engineering, and IoT domains Real-world impact through sustainable technology solutions If interested, Please share your updated resume with details of your present salary, expectations & notice period.
