Controls Engineer

Job Summary:

The Controls Engineer III is responsible for guiding the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex automation systems.

This candidate will be working with MHE systems (conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, sortation, and associated industrial automation technologies), including HMIs, WES/WCS platforms, and customer host interfaces.

The Program Lead drives cross functional alignment, mentors engineers, establishes standards and best practices, and ensures predictable, efficient execution throughout the project lifecycle.

• Experience:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, OR 10 + years of equivalent engineering experience.

• 5+ years PLC programming experience (Rockwell preferred; Siemens/others a plus).

• Strong understanding of industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profinet, etc.).

• Experience with conveyor and MHE control systems, safety PLCs, and machine automation.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and system diagrams.

• Prior experience defining and working with software/PLC interfaces.

• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms (Ignition, FactoryTalk View preferred).

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex controls issues efficiently.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to lead technical conversations with customers and cross-functional teams.

• Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

• Comfortable mentoring and guiding engineers.

• Experience with Daifuku, Dematic, Hytrol, and Pulse Roller MDR or Motor Driven Roller Conveyors

• Fanuc Robotics experience is a PLUS
