About the role
Role & responsibilities Design and develop suspension systems (Air suspension, leaf spring suspension) for Bus applications Perform CAD modeling and detailing using SolidWorks Conduct design calculations, simulations, and support for FEA analysis for strength and durability Collaborate with Customer Engineering, Service, Purchase teams Work with suppliers for component development, validation, and cost optimization Support prototype builds, testing, and validation (ride, handling, durability testing) Analyze test & failure data and implement design improvements Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Manage engineering changes and documentation (BOM, drawings, design reports) Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelors / masters degree in mechanical engineering 3–5 years of experience in automotive design (preferably in Chassis system aggregates of Buses or commercial vehicles) Strong knowledge of suspension systems, vehicle dynamics, and chassis design Proficiency in CAD software (Solid works preferred) Understanding of manufacturing processes (forging, casting, fabrication) Familiarity with testing standards and validation processes Key Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good understanding of ride and handling characteristics Project management and coordination skills Effective communication and teamwork Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment Preferred Experience Experience in Bus or heavy commercial vehicle development Exposure to air suspension systems and ECAS (Electronically Controlled Air Suspension) Knowledge of global automotive standards and regulations
