Position: Process Design Engineer WTP/STP Project: HMWSSB (Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board) Location: Hyderabad Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract (FTC) Experience: 15-20 Years (Mandatory) Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with M.Tech in Environmental Engineering(Mandatory) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Process Design Engineer for the HMWSSB Project, Hyderabad . The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), and Water Transmission Projects . The candidate will be responsible for process design, engineering calculations, preparation and review of technical deliverables, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead the process engineering and design activities for WTP, STP, pumping stations, and water transmission projects. Prepare and review process design calculations, sizing of treatment units, hydraulic calculations, and process reports. Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Mass Balance, and Design Basis Reports. Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Structural teams for design integration. Review technical specifications, equipment datasheets, and vendor submissions. Ensure compliance with client requirements, statutory regulations, and applicable design standards. Support project execution teams by providing process engineering guidance and resolving technical queries. Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, technical discussions, and client meetings. Evaluate treatment technologies and recommend optimal process solutions for water and wastewater treatment systems. Ensure timely submission of engineering deliverables while maintaining quality standards. Required Skills Strong expertise in Water Treatment Plants (WTP) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) process design. Experience in Water Transmission and Distribution Projects . Proficiency in hydraulic and process design calculations. Knowledge of treatment technologies such as clarification, filtration, disinfection, biological treatment, sludge handling, and tertiary treatment systems. Familiarity with national and international water and wastewater design standards. Strong technical report writing and review capabilities. Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills. Qualification & Experience Mandatory Qualifications B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering M.Tech in Environmental Engineering Mandatory Experience 15-20 years of overall experience Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Water Treatment and Water Transmission Projects Proven experience in designing and executing WTP/STP projects for municipal or infrastructure sectors. Preferred Experience Experience in large-scale government/municipal water infrastructure projects. Exposure to HMWSSB, AMRUT, Jal Jeevan Mission, Smart City, or similar urban water projects. Experience in EPC, Design Consultancy, or PMC projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Water Treatment and Transmission Projects and should be capable of independently handling process design engineering activities for large-scale WTP/STP projects.
