Job Description Site Engineer (Electrical) Location: Jind, Assandth Haryana, India Experience Required: 3-5 Years, 5 to 7 Yrs Employment Type: Full-Time / Project-Based Industry: Power Transmission / EPC / Substation Projects About the Role We are looking for a highly competent Site Engineer Electrical with hands-on experience in 400kV / 220kV grid substation projects. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end site execution including erection, testing, and commissioning of major substation equipment such as 500 MVA transformers, AIS/GIS bay equipment, control & relay panels, SCADA, and telecom systems. The role involves close coordination with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and quality project execution. Key Responsibilities 1. Site Execution & Supervision Supervise day-to-day erection, testing, and commissioning activities at the substation. Ensure all activities are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Monitor work related to transformers, AIS bay equipment, and gantry structures. 2. Transformer & Equipment Handling Supervise installation, oil filling, filtration, and testing of power transformers (up to 500 MVA). Ensure proper erection and alignment of switchyard equipment. Coordinate pre-commissioning checks and readiness for energization. 3. CRP, SCADA & Telecom Systems Oversee installation and testing of control & relay panels (CRP), SCADA, SAS, and telecom systems. Ensure proper interfacing, wiring, and functional testing. 4. Cabling & Associated Works Supervise cable laying, dressing, glanding, termination, and ferruling. Ensure proper installation of cable trays, earthing system, and lighting system. 5. Testing & Commissioning Coordinate primary and secondary injection tests, relay testing, and functional checks. Support charging and commissioning activities. 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily progress reports, inspection reports, and test records. Track availability of drawings, documents, and material test certificates. 7. Coordination & Material Management Coordinate with client, consultants, OEMs, and contractors. Ensure timely availability of materials, drawings, and tools at site. Track project progress and resolve site issues. Required Qualifications Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 3-5 years of experience in 220kV / 400kV substation projects. Hands-on experience in erection, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment. Ability to read SLDs, schematics, and layout drawings. Preferred Experience Experience in projects executed for central or state transmission utilities. Exposure to 500 MVA class transformers and SAS-based substations. Familiarity with SCADA and modern protection systems.
