Location Pan India Experience 4+ IMS / IDMS Database Administrator Job Description Role Overview Experienced Mainframe Database Administrator responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing IMS (DB/TM) and IDMS database environments. The role includes production support, performance tuning, incident management, and ensuring stable and efficient database operations within enterprise applications. Key Responsibilities €¢ IMS/IDMS DB transformation to Cloud DB experience • Administer, maintain, and support IMS DB/TM and IDMS databases • Handle L2/L3 production support, including incident resolution and root cause analysis • Monitor database performance, batch jobs, and system health; ensure stability and SLA adherence • Perform database tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization activities • Support application enhancements, defect fixes, and system improvements • Analyze data issues and support data integrity and consistency across systems • Collaborate with application teams, vendors, and stakeholders for changes and releases • Manage change, release, and configuration processes in controlled environments • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards Technical Skills & Experience Mandatory Skills • Strong hands on experience with: o IMS DB o IDMS Database • Expertise in Mainframe technologies: o COBOL o JCL • Experience in production support (incident & problem management) • Knowledge of z/OS environment and mainframe toolsets Preferred Skills • Exposure to DB2 (z/OS) environments • Experience in application development & maintenance lifecycle • Familiarity with large scale enterprise or automotive domain systems Additional Expectations • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination in global delivery models • Flexibility to support global time zones / shift based support model
