About the role
Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Linux Kernel / Embedded Software Developer with strong expertise in Embedded C and Linux Kernel development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Linux device driver development, kernel programming, and Linux system programming. The role involves designing, developing, debugging, and optimizing kernel-level software for embedded Linux platforms while ensuring high performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain Linux kernel modules and device drivers. - Develop and optimize embedded software using Embedded C for Linux-based systems. - Work on Linux kernel programming, including customization, debugging, and performance optimization. - Develop and maintain Linux device drivers for various hardware peripherals. - Implement and optimize kernel components such as memory management, process scheduling, and inter-process communication (IPC). - Analyze kernel crashes, perform root cause analysis, and resolve system-level issues. - Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and application teams to integrate software with embedded platforms. - Optimize system performance, boot time, and memory utilization. - Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. - Prepare technical documentation for design, implementation, and testing activities. Required Skills - Strong programming expertise in Embedded C. - Hands-on experience with Linux Kernel Development. - Robust knowledge of Linux Device Driver Development. - Experience in Linux Kernel Programming and Linux System Programming. - Solid understanding of Memory Management, Process Scheduler, and Inter-Process Communication (IPC). - Experience debugging kernel issues using tools such as GDB, KGDB, ftrace, perf, or similar. - Familiarity with cross-compilation, kernel configuration, and build systems. - Good understanding of embedded Linux architecture and boot process. Preferred Skills - Knowledge of Linux File Systems. - Understanding of Linux Kernel Internals. - Experience working with embedded hardware platforms and board bring-up. - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. - Exposure to performance tuning and system optimization.
