About the role
Role & responsibilities Job Description L2 Linux Administrator - Administer and support Linux servers in a production environment. - Manage and maintain critical production servers, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. - Perform day-to-day operational activities within the organization related to Linux infrastructure. - Perform user management, filesystem administration, and server health monitoring. - Troubleshoot OS-level issues and perform performance tuning. - Manage patching activities, system updates, and security hardening. - Monitor server availability, logs, and critical services. - Support backup, restoration, and disaster recovery activities. - Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, failover, and failback activities. - Work closely with application, database, network, and infrastructure teams for issue resolution. - Prepare and maintain operational documentation and SOPs. Preferred candidate profile: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration (L2 support). Strong experience in administering RHEL/CentOS/Oracle Linux servers in a production environment. Good knowledge of user administration, filesystem management, server monitoring, and OS troubleshooting. Experience in Linux patching, security hardening, performance tuning, and system updates. Familiarity with backup & restore procedures, Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, and high availability environments. Participate in 24x7 support operations and incident management.
