Role: Cloud Consultant

Duration: Long Term contract Location: Remote Visa: W2 role

Job Description: The position is an Advisor role between the technical teams and the customer. They will gather requirements, providing technical insights, pulling together different technical teams, and providing technical recommendations. This isn’t a hands technical role.

The keys items would be finding someone with tons of experience managing multiple AWS Application who has talked with high level customer providing guidance and recommendation on cloud solutions. A HUGE nice to have would be someone who has Centers for Medicare/ Medicaid experience (not required though).

Primary Responsibilities: • Plans and performs research, design assessment, development, integration and other assignments in a specific technical area. • Supervises broad team of systems engineers. • Responsible for highly complex technical/engineering areas. • May perform other duties, as assigned. • Facilitate session(s) to understand detailed requirements (infra, security, etc.): overview of shared services offerings, introduce managed services available, additional deep dives as requested • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and expertise in CMS Hybrid Cloud Product and Service offerings • Develop and maintain close advisory relationships with the Application Development Organizations (ADOs) being supported within your portfolio • Develop and maintain a strong positive relationship with CMS Hybrid Cloud Product teams, including a thorough understanding of the Hybrid Cloud Product team’s backlog and work ingestion process • Ensure all ADOs supported within the portfolio maintain a strong security posture • Through weekly/monthly reviews of performance and cost data, lead performance and cost optimization efforts • Lead all application migration and modernization efforts • Coordinate and ensure all production readiness activities are complete prior to any major cutovers are conducted • Create and maintain application profiles • Coordinate Escalations on behalf of CMS IUSG’s Shared Service Providers and O&M Teams. • Apply Product Management principles to develop, maintain, optimize, and evangelize various products across the CMS ecosystem. • Maintain domain knowledge expertise in cloud operations and DevOps best practices. • Influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results while also leading work of other technical staff. • Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.

Basic Qualifications: • Experience managing a portfolio of applications • Experience successfully working across multiple vendors • Knowledge of cloud-based security tools, best practices and policies including demonstrated experience protecting all layers of the application stack. • Knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage conflict effectively. • Ability to adapt and be productive in a fast-paced dynamic environment. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills supporting multiple stakeholders and business operations. • Self-starter, self-managed, and a team player.

Preferred Qualifications

• • Cloud Certification (e.g., AWS SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator). • Agile-based knowledge and skill, including experience with Scrum Ceremonies and work management tools (e.g., (JIRA, Confluence). • Security Skills—Knowledge of information assurance compliance and information security basics within CMS.
