About the role
Job Title: Principal Security Engineer Location: Remote to start then Dallas, Texas Must Haves: 5+ years in a cybersecurity SOC environment Experience with security tools like SIEM, EDR, NIDS, and SOAR Experience with network intrusion detection and prevention Expert knowledge of IOCs on both Linux and Windows operating systems Cloud experience (AWS or Azure) This person will provide technical expertise and guidance in defending the enterprise against threats within a 24x7 Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) environment. The Principal Engineer will be instrumental in helping to mature the CSOC in areas of monitoring, detection, and response. This role will work closely with the Security Engineering team to continuously improve CSOC processes and capabilities. Drive improvements in detection, correlation, and automated response for CSOC tools including SIEM, EDR, IDS, and SOAR. Lead efforts to move tools and operations into the cloud. Identify anomalies and tune detection rules accordingly. Assist CSOC and CIRT with complex security incidents. Serve as point of contact for security vendors and support teams. Ensure reporting dashboards accurately reflect relevant data. Advise and inform senior leadership with status updates. Recommend updates to CSOC playbooks and procedures. Assist and mentor junior CSOC Analysts and Engineers.
