Security Engineer

Role: Security Engineer Location: 100%Remote Duration: 6month+ contract NEED TO HAVE: Tenable Nessus experience Managers are open to mid-level engineers, but must have knowledge of security scanning tools and how they fit into a data center • Design/ build experience networking background • Vulnerability scanning • Tenable Nessus software experience Job description: The Design Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining security standards in traditional environments. This resource will work with infrastructure platform teams and application teams to ensure that security scanning and vulnerability software is being accounted for in each platform and across all layers of the architecture. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Ensures that enterprise security requirements are included in standards for product and services development. • Leads the development and maintenance patterns, standards and frameworks to support security efforts • Contributes to automation and application frameworks in support of greater resiliency, fault isolation and self-healing capabilities • Participates in deep design reviews with application and infrastructure platform teams throughout the development life cycle to improve overall security • Performs other related duties as assigned. Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills: • Technology architecture background: Strong understanding of infrastructure and networking components and the relationship between them. Areas of focus include databases, networks, security capabilities, middleware, etc. • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
