Test/Validation Engineer

Title:  Test/Validation Engineer Duration: 12 Months Location:   Lafayette IN Candidate Responsibilities This position is for a test/validation engineer to work in the Engine Electrical Systems and Controls Lab for our client in Lafayette, IN. Primary responsibilities:  verification of engine electrical system and software functionality on system test benches, design/build/procurement of test fixtures, development of test plans, development of automation scripts, development of system test bench upgrades. Other responsibilities:  Factory engineering support.  Support on-engine system tests in test cells support electrical field validation activities and resolution of product issues. Typical Day A typical week may include: Engine system integration or feature testing: 40% Lab development work: 20-30%: Field issue investigation: 10-20% Factory Support / Electrical System troubleshooting: 20-30% Onsite 50% of the time (normally 3 days a week) Education Requirement Bachelor''s degree (Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology) Technical Skills Required * Experience with LabVIEW and/or Matlab/Simulink * Experience with industry standard datalink protocols such as J1939, Modbus * Experience with Vector development tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CANoe) * Programming Experience (Python, C, LabVIEW) * Diesel engine knowledge * Demonstrated troubleshooting skills Soft Skills Required Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work with diverse personalities is required. Must be self-motivated with a good sense of urgency and attention to detail when handling assigned tasks.
