Principal Backend Architect – Python Experience: 10–14 years
Reporting To: Managing Partner + Long-Term Incentives
Role Overview
Principal Backend Architect to lead the design and development of mission-critical backend systems that power advanced intelligence and decision-support platforms.
This role requires deep expertise in distributed system design, backend architecture, and decision-centric platforms. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping scalable, auditable, and highly reliable backend services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead architecture and development of a Python-based backend platform using FastAPI and modern async frameworks.
• Design and implement decision-driven backend services, including rule-based logic, authorization workflows, and enforcement mechanisms.
• Define and maintain robust data models and persistence layers using PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud object storage.
• Establish backend standards for reliability, fault tolerance, and graceful degradation.
• Implement traceability and explainability mechanisms to support audits, quality assurance, and regulatory review
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including:
o Clinical subject-matter experts
o Quality assurance teams
o Product and platform engineering
• Mentor senior/Junior engineers and contribute to long-term technical strategy.
Preferred Attributes
• Background in regulated or high-trust systems (healthcare, finance, enterprise SaaS).
• Experience leading architecture reviews and technical governance.
