Manager, Systems Architecture Engineer

Role Overview: You will be leading a team of engineers as the Manager, Systems Architecture at TMUS Global Solutions. Your primary responsibility will be designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-scale Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres/NoSQL) to support T-Mobiles application platforms. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure secure, reliable, and automated systems at scale. Collaboration with senior technical leaders and business stakeholders to define platform strategy and deliver innovative solutions aligned with T-Mobiles goals will be crucial. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage a team of DBAs to foster technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Develop and execute strategic plans for architecture, automation, and operation of enterprise database environments. - Oversee system design, deployment, patching, and compliance initiatives to ensure security, reliability, and scalability. - Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align system architecture initiatives with organizational goals. - Drive standardization and modernization of system engineering practices through automation and infrastructure-as-code principles. - Manage team performance, provide mentorship, and develop career growth plans for engineers and senior engineers. - Ensure effective implementation of system monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning strategies. - Oversee technical documentation, process improvements, and incident management. - Manage project priorities, budgets, and resource planning to meet operational and strategic objectives. - Perform additional duties and leadership initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred. - 810 years of experience in Database System engineering, with at least 5 years of people or team leadership experience. - Proven track record of leading enterprise-level systems engineering teams in fast-paced environments. - Experience with automation using Ansible for configuration management and patch orchestration. - Strong understanding of system security, compliance, and operational best practices. - Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to drive strategic initiatives while managing operational excellence. - Strong technical background.
