About the role
Role Overview: As a Senior Architect, Systems at TMUS Global Solutions, you will play a crucial role in defining and owning the architectural patterns for the Unified Ingestion Framework. This framework aims to deliver data efficiently and securely to all consumers, including T-Mobile customers, business analysts, and AI agents. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing batch and streaming frameworks to ensure seamless data flow from source systems to the Lakehouse. You will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, agility, and transparency, making a significant impact on the company's digital transformation. Key Responsibilities: - Define and establish the reference architecture for T-Mobile's data ingestion framework, covering both batch and streaming processes. - Set technical standards for high-throughput, event-driven architectures to support near real-time data pipelines for ingestion into Azure + Databricks Lakehouse. - Architect AI capabilities to optimize the Unified Ingestion Framework. - Collaborate with peer architects in different domains to ensure overall coherence. - Define SLAs, SLOs, and observability standards in collaboration with SREs for the data ingest infrastructure. - Implement Infrastructure-as-Code standards in a repeatable and governed manner. - Conduct architecture reviews, assess new technologies, and recommend strategic platform investments. - Mentor engineers and enhance the team's architectural capabilities. Qualifications Required: - 7+ years of experience in systems engineering and architecture, focusing on data platforms and large-scale distributed systems. - Proven expertise in defining reference architectures for data integration in enterprise settings. - Deep understanding of data platform architecture, including Lakehouse patterns, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and modern data product design. - Hands-on experience with streaming architectures such as Kafka, Redis, CDC, and event-driven serving. - Proficiency in Microsoft Azure data platform components like Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs, Blob Storage, ADLS Gen2, and Azure DevOps for orchestration and CI/CD. - Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or equivalent. - Strong communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and drive technical decisions across global teams.
