About the role
Purpose of the role Drive the development and delivery of innovative products that surpass customer expectations through effective collaboration with RD Engineers and key stakeholders across Marketing, Project Management, PED, Purchase, and QAD functions. 1. Define product requirements based on customer needs and market expectations. 2. Collaborate and integrate with RD teams to develop and deliver new products meeting QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) targets. 3. Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders outside RD, including Marketing, Project Management, Purchase, PED and Quality teams, to ensure successful product delivery aligned with QCD objectives. 4. Participate in customer understanding activities, field studies, and competitive product benchmarking. 5. Arrive at AQ/MBQ targets, prepare QFD (Quality Function Deployment), and deploy requirements across functions. 6. Prepare Product definition document , product specifications, and cascade technical targets to RD engineering teams. 7. Identify project bottlenecks and Prepare risk mitigation plan and drive debottlenecking actions to ensure timely project execution. 8. Conduct workshops and drive in design review activities such as TDR (Technical Design Review), DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and DFB. 9. Take responsibility for drawing release, vehicle build activities, validation, and testing coordination. 10. Develop platform product roadmaps aimed at delivering best-in-class customer experience and competitiveness. 11. Drive competency development, technology adoption, and innovation initiatives for continuous product improvement. 12. Prepare and present project and design reviews to senior leadership, including HOD, CTO, and BLT members. 13. Track and update project progress using TOC (Theory of Constraints) and project management tools/software. 14. Ensure elimination of current product issues in new product development, with focus on MIW parts and process improvements (PPP). 15. Participate in road trips, customer usage field trials (CUFT), and other customer interaction activities to gather product insights and feedback. 16. Periodically monitor and review key project metrics, including Drawing Release Plan vs. Actual, Target Weight vs. Actual, Cost Targets vs. Actual, AQI Demerit Score vs. Actual, and DVP Plan vs. Actual to ensure project objectives are achieved. 17. Regularly monitor PQM and drive timely closure of identified issues and action items. 18. Conduct Intellectual Property (IP) reviews and coordinate Homologation approval activities to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met. 19. Periodically monitor and ensure timely supplier drawing approvals across Sample, Pilot, and SOP (Start of Production) stages to support smooth project execution and milestone achievement. 20. Prepare, review, and release Alpha DVP reports to track design validation status, monitor test outcomes, and support decision-making during product development. Functional competency 1.
