Job Summary Position description: - As a Lead engineer for Chassis Structural components, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of Chassis sub systems like Footrests, Stands, Handle Bars, Luggage Racks, Swingarms, Wheels, etc. of our products (2W) for a segment, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and cost targets. You will work, with the guidance of chief engineer chassis structural components, cross-functionally with design, engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance the structural integrity and overall riding experience. Role Description Lead the design and development of chassis systems for a segment of vehicles delivering New Products, addressing problems in current products and developing future technologies. Define technical requirements and ensure designs meet performance, durability, weight and cost targets. Co-ordinate effectively to deploy mutually agreed QCD requirements on chassis systems, steer alignments and discussions within and between CoCs, Quality, Purchasing, Service, Production and Aftersales. Review test procedures and results (performance durability) and oversee the validation process. Conduct Design reviews, update and maintain design guidelines, SoPs, DFMEA related to brake systems. Mentor new engineers for their career goals and objectives Lead Problem solving initiatives Value Engineering initiatives on chassis systems across product life cycles. Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and drive technical decisions in quick time. Develop standardised solutions across platform minimising variety in chassis systems. Ensure compliance with global safety and regulatory standards. Internal and External Interactions: Internal - Design, Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Service, Production and Aftersales teams; External - Suppliers. Advanced Qualifications are an advantage. Requirements Required Experience: 12-14 years in Automotive RD field. Experience in Chassis System Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years in Chassis systems Design development.
