As a Staff Software Engineer- Eng at UKG, you will play a vital role in developing cutting-edge SaaS technologies and impactful projects used globally. Your responsibilities will include: - Software Development: Write clean, maintainable, and productive code for various software applications and systems. - Technical Strategy: Drive the technical strategy and vision for major projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices. Communicate complex concepts and influence others to adopt a point of view. - Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver high-impact software projects. Coordinate activities, mentor engineers, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. - Architectural Excellence: Architect, design, and develop complex software systems with high performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with architects on design. - Complex Problem Solving: Solve complex issues with innovative solutions, communicate effectively, and influence adoption of viewpoints. - Impact and Quality: Drive team objectives, prioritize technical debt, ensure service health, and maintain service quality through best practices. - DevOps and Testing: Oversee CI/CD pipelines, build testable software, automate tests, and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality software solutions. - Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement. - Documentation and Innovation: Develop technical documentation, stay current with emerging technologies, and advocate for their adoption to drive innovation. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 7+ years of professional software development experience. - Deep expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, .NET. - Extensive experience in software architecture, design patterns, cloud technologies, and version control systems. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions. - Proficiency in building telemetry and observability. - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
