As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Optum, a global organization focused on delivering care with technology to improve health outcomes, your role will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, stability, security, scalability, and automation of digital properties. Key Responsibilities: - Define and own the SRE, AI-enabled operations, and observability strategy aligned with organizational goals - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to SREs, platform engineers, AI implementation teams, and cross-functional technology teams - Collaborate with various teams to integrate reliability, observability, and AI-enabled automation best practices - Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade monitoring, alerting, and observability standards - Drive the transition to intelligent observability platforms and implement AI-enabled incident management capabilities - Conduct risk modeling, implement resilience patterns, and lead chaos engineering efforts - Drive technology transformation, guide teams on modern trends, and drive automation strategies - Lead incident response, participate in on-call rotation, and ensure operational excellence Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field - 15+ years of IT industry experience with a focus on SRE, platform engineering, and cloud operations - Hands-on experience in designing and implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability architectures - Coding experience in Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, etc. - Solid experience in AI implementation, AIOps, and observability dashboards - Proficiency in front-end technologies, data platforms, and event-driven platforms - Experience with automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and relational databases - Strong understanding of hybrid hosting environments and infrastructure platforms - Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical concepts effectively Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group, is committed to improving health outcomes and addressing health disparities.
