About the role
As a Software Engineer at Optum, you will play a crucial role in improving health outcomes and connecting people with the care they need. Primary Responsibilities: - Partner with Business, Technical, and Strategic Product Owner to deliver value through technology solutions in an agile framework - Contribute to the technology stack and develop modern solutions for complex problems - Design and develop resilient, reliable, and scalable solutions - Ensure thorough coverage of the application ecosystem with telemetry - Automate menial tasks to eliminate "churn" and "waste" - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build optimal solutions - Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Assist in team building activities and mentor junior team members - Work closely with the Architect for application design What you are like: - Possess an excellent, positive attitude - Natural leader with the ability to influence and inspire others - Resourceful and proactive in problem-solving - Take extreme ownership and pride in your work - Value team culture and actively contribute to a positive environment - Embrace automation to improve efficiency - Implement infrastructure, pipeline, testing, monitoring, etc., as code - Have a continuous learning mindset Required Qualifications: - Graduate degree or equivalent experience - 7+ years of experience with languages like .NET, C# as an engineer - 4+ years of production experience with Azure cloud technologies, React, Github Actions & Terraform - 2+ years of experience in writing unit or integration tests - Proficiency in working with various technologies and architectures - Previous full-stack engineering experience - Deep understanding of software engineering principles and processes - Experience in AI/ML for team productivity or business effectiveness Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Docker, Cloud, Kubernetes, Data Streaming via Kafka/Event Hub - Familiarity with HTML, Javascript, Playwright, NodeJS, Git, SOA - Background in Healthcare domain - Knowledge of Azure AppInsights and SRE principles At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and improve the health system for all individuals.
