As a member of the Optum team, your role will involve designing, developing, testing, deploying, and continuously improving software. You will translate product concepts into project commitments that deliver incremental value to customers frequently and with high quality. Additionally, you will participate in Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases and perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, coding, testing, deployment, and support. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing code, providing feedback on best practices, and improving performance. Troubleshooting production support issues post-deployment and coming up with solutions as required will be part of your daily tasks. You are expected to be innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the business, work closely with the Architecture group, drive technical solutions, and adapt in a dynamic and collaborative work environment to make independent decisions. Collaboration to meet project timelines and compliance with employment contract terms, company policies, and procedures will also be essential. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software - Translate product concepts into project commitments that deliver incremental value to customers frequently and with high quality - Participate in Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases - Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code, test, deploy, and support - Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance - Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required - Be innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the business - Work closely with the Architecture group and drive technical solutions - Adapt in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decisions - Collaborate to meet project timelines Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - 10+ years of coding experience - 8+ years of experience in Python with a willingness and ability to learn new languages along with Microservices - Experience working within an Agile/Scrum Methodology - Good experience working with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools, REST API development, serverless architecture, containerization, IaC, public/private cloud, application observability, and messaging/stream architecture - Sound knowledge as AI Builder using any of LLM models - Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals: unit testing, code reviews, Agile, and DevOps At Optum, you will be part of a global organization that aims to help millions of people live healthier lives through technology and care.
