Role Overview: As a Software Engineer at Optum, you will be part of a team dedicated to improving health outcomes by connecting people with the care, pharmacy benefits, data, and resources they need. You will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and supporting an application ecosystem that enhances the healthcare experience in the Nevada Market. Your work will involve designing, testing, and deploying scalable applications, APIs, and AI-enabled solutions to meet business and technical requirements. You will collaborate with lead engineers to define modern architecture patterns and work with business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring code quality, leading project deliveries, supporting CI/CD pipelines, and driving operational excellence practices. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications, APIs, and AI-enabled solutions - Build and integrate RESTful Web APIs and MCP-aligned services - Apply AI-assisted development practices and collaborate with lead engineers on architecture patterns - Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions - Contribute to prompt libraries, reusable AI components, and structured workflows - Ensure code quality through secure coding practices and adherence to compliance standards - Lead or contribute to the delivery of complex features or projects - Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices - Participate in production support, monitoring, and incident resolution - Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers - Drive adoption of operational excellence practices across build, deploy, monitor, and support phases Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience - 5+ years of hands-on development experience with C# / .NET (preferably .NET 6/8+) - 5+ years of experience building RESTful APIs and Web Services - 5+ years of experience with Angular (modern versions) and front-end web development - 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) - Solid experience in Web API design, architecture, and API gateway integration - Solid experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases, including design and optimization - Experience with AI-assisted development tools and integrating AI services into applications - Experience with secure application development, CI/CD pipelines, and leading features/projects - Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, and DevOps practices - Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills (Note: The additional details of the company are omitted from the Job Description for brevity.)
