Software Engineering Lead

Primary Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain backend applications using Java (17/21) - Build and optimize REST APIs and microservices - Work extensively with SQL Server to ensure performance and data integrity - Write clean, efficient code and solve complex technical problems - Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment Required Qualifications: - Solid experience in Java (Java 17 and above; preferably Java 21) - Experience in designing and developing scalable backend systems, REST APIs, and microservices - Hands-on experience with SQL Server including query optimization and database design - Solid coding, problem-solving, and debugging skills - Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure - Understanding of cloud-native application development and deployment Preferred Qualifications: - Basic knowledge or working experience with React JS - Support frontend integration using React JS - Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL databases At Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group, the mission is to help people live healthier lives and improve the health system for everyone.
