As a Data Engineer at Optum, you will be responsible for developing data pipelines, integrating data from various sources, improving processes, building infrastructure, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring data quality. Key Responsibilities: - Familiarity with programming languages like Python or Java for data analysis and application development. - Proficiency in data modeling to represent business requirements and system architecture. - Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data storage, retrieval, and optimization. - Knowledge of data security best practices, encryption, and access controls. - Expertise in ETL processes and tools like DBT and DBT framework/packages. - Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server) and NoSQL databases. - Understanding of cloud platforms and their data services. - Familiarity with Delta Lake and medallion architecture. - Knowledge of the Data Vault methodology for scalable data warehousing. - Proficiency in using Azure Data Factory for data workflows, movement, and transformation. - Experience with DBT Core. - Health care domain knowledge.
