As an Associate Professor in Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (Social Media Analytics) at the School of Computer Science and Engineering in Sydney, Australia, your role involves contributing to and shaping the strategic direction of research and education in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. You will play a key role in driving high-impact research with national and international visibility in areas such as large language models, social media analytics, and AI and NLP applications in online information ecosystems. Your responsibilities include: - Leading high-impact research in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. - Contributing to the strategic direction of research and education in AI and NLP. - Driving research with national and international visibility in large language models and social media analytics. - Applying AI and NLP to understand and improve online information ecosystems. - Advancing the School's research profile, industry engagement, and educational excellence. Qualifications required for this role include: - A PhD in a related discipline or relevant work experience. - Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments. - Experience in teaching and learning design at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. - Demonstrated success in securing research funding and leading research initiatives. - Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds. - Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
