About the role
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and proactive Wintel Lead to manage, support, and optimise enterprise Windows infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Virtualization platforms, patch management, infrastructure automation, and team leadership. Technical Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of Wintel administrators and engineers. Provide technical guidance for incident resolution, problem management, and infrastructure improvements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities.
Windows Infrastructure Management
Administer and maintain Windows Server environments. Ensure server availability, performance, and resource planning. Manage server lifecycle activities including provisioning, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
Virtualization & Cloud
Manage and support VMware vSphere, Horizon VDI, vSan, or similar Virtualization platforms. Support hybrid cloud environments involving Microsoft Azure and related services. Participate in cloud migration and modernisation projects.
Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain security best practices across Windows environments. Manage patching, vulnerability remediation, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions. Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards. Support security audits and risk assessments.
Monitoring & Operations
Monitor infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools. Lead major incident management and root cause analysis activities. Ensure adherence to SLA, KPI, and operational excellence targets. Coordinate with application, network, security, and cloud teams.
Automation & Scripting
Improve operational efficiency through infrastructure automation and standardisation. Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives where applicable.
Documentation & Governance
Maintain infrastructure documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. Participate in change management, CAB reviews, and release planning. Ensure adherence to ITIL processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
Strong experience with Windows Server Administration. Expert knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and PKI. Experience with VMware vSphere /VDI Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills. Experience with patch management tools such as SCCM and WSUS Familiarity with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services. Knowledge of storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Leadership Skills
Proven experience leading infrastructure teams. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to manage escalations and major incidents effectively. Experience in resource planning and team development.
