Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Batesville, IN ( Onsite required) Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Job Summary:

We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer. This role focuses on implementing design changes for medical device products, particularly hospital beds and equipment. Changes may stem from design improvements, compliance updates, or supply chain needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform design analysis and engineering release activities for small to mid-size projects.

Lead or contribute to mechanical design and development tasks, including updates to labeling, documentation, or general product specs.

Implement design changes for components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using internal product release processes.

Develop feasibility assessments, risk documentation, DFMEA, engineering requirements, and cost estimates.

Manage multiple projects at once, ensuring alignment with timelines and goals.

Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including quality, regulatory, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and sales.

Share technical knowledge, mentor team members, and guide peers in your areas of expertise.

Communicate proactively about issues or updates that may impact timelines or deliverables.

Continuously improve team practices and challenge inefficient processes.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalent).

Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Solid problem-solving abilities.

Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities.

Effective team collaborator with strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with FDA regulations.

• Tolerance stack-up analysis experience.

• Proficiency with Solid Edge CAD software.

• Familiarity with root cause analysis tools such as 5-Why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, and fault trees.

• Experience documenting designs, risk analysis, DFMEA, and test requirements.
