About the role
We are seeking an experienced AIX Administrator to manage and support IBM-AIX environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system monitoring, troubleshooting, user management, and high-availability cluster configurations. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, hands-on experience with UNIX-based systems, and a willingness to work in a 24/7 support environment. Responsibilities: Administer and manage IBM-AIX systems, including AIX VIO and AIX NIM. Configure and maintain High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing (HACMP) clusters. Continuously monitor UNIX (AIX, SUN, HP Linux) servers and troubleshoot system-related issues. Handle user/group administration and manage file systems, disk partitioning, and troubleshooting. Configure and troubleshoot NFS, NIS, and DNS services. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software system failures. Work with SP HACMP clusters on IBM machines. Collaborate with vendors to address unresolved hardware failures and system updates. Perform system recovery, including file system restoration and OS troubleshooting. Monitor system availability, performance, and capacity. Plan and execute system management activities such as reboots, backups, recovery, patching, and firmware updates. Storage administration experience is an added advantage. Requirements: Strong hands-on experience with IBM-AIX administration. Knowledge of UNIX environments (AIX, SUN, HP Linux). Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal communication skills. Willingness to work in a 24/7 support environment.
