About the role
Come join the new Vestas Blades Process Engineering organization. The Finish Paint Blades Tooling department within the Blades Finish Paint Process Engineering are Responsible for tooling development, requirements and specifications. The function will also support the supplier management and development. Service and maintenance strategy, is also within their scope together with OOE and TPM. There will be between 2-4 tooling engineers working with Finish paint Manufacturing tooling. The whole Finish Paint department will consist of 9-12 high educated engineers or equal education, and they will be divided into 5 teams: Process, Tooling, Documentation, Operational Support and Training. Responsibilities As a Tooling Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in defining the Requirements and specifications for tools used in the Finish Paint process, in the blades building process. If you do not have a deep knowledge within composite materials, you will have a high motivation to get it. You will have a clear focus on tools needed for modern production process technologies, to ensure high process stability and efficiency and thereby to improve overall business performance and Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC) Design, and optimizing tools for the Finish Paint processes. Tool development, Tooling requirements and specifications Tool industrialization and standardization Create tooling and supplier roadmap via analysis of AS IS and future state Supplier management, CAPEX Budget and Tool Delivery (TPM) Service and maintenance strategy including EAM Tool optimization including tool in use today Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability Use digital tools like digital twins and data analytics to improve performance and make data-driven decisions. Investigating and solving production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA. Applying continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality. Qualifications University degree in Master Mechanical Engineering or alike GB Six Sigma or Advance Manufacturing Process Analysis About 10 years of experience in similar roles as described above Worked with Tool development, Tools functional requirements specification, Define maintenance plans, Supplier management, Leading tooling projects and use data process analyses. Worked in a data driven organization. Supported optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes with use of the toolbox also mentioned above. Competencies Able to develop and or specify the functions of tools for Finish Paint process, including equipment for quality control and online process measurements. Deep understanding of how the manufacturing processes can be automized for the benefit of the product quality. You are interested and willing to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems Designing or specifying equipment that meets CE marking, and local safety regulations, sustainability Energy Efficiency Experience in root-cause analysis and systematic problem-solving in production environments. Composite materials knowledge, understanding of paint, fiberglass, epoxy resins, and other materials used in production. Data-Driven Decision Making Use of tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve production issues. Know Kaizen methodologies as a tool to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
