About the role
As a Software Engineer working with the Global Engineering teams, your role involves designing and implementing embedded software for company products and developing software tools using C and Embedded Automotive applications. You will be responsible for the software design and development process, including benchmarking of competitive products, working closely with the Product Development team in the US. Your responsibilities encompass the entire software engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis to clear documentation, as well as performing technical work for existing processes and systems. Key Responsibilities: - Understanding and implementing software engineering practices, principles, processes, and systems - Familiarity with lighting and motor control techniques, position sensing techniques, and solenoids/actuators - Knowledge of Automotive Vehicle Networks, including Vector CAN drivers and tools, LIN, J1850, J1939, and J1950 - Proficiency in C programming language and experience with off-the-shelf RTOS - Ability to develop software design documents and unit/integration test procedures, along with traceability matrix - Working with version control tools and CANalyzer & CANOE programming with CAPL - Familiarity with Labview programming, automotive software design standards, and electronics hardware components - Experience in software modeling & analysis using tools like Matlab/Simulink and PC Lint - Fact-based problem-solving skills and computer proficiency in software compilers, configuration tools, spreadsheets, and word processing - Project management skills, including defining objectives, developing plans, monitoring progress, and strong communication abilities Qualifications Required: - Strong background in C programming language - Knowledge of Automotive Vehicle Networks and embedded control systems - Experience with software modeling & analysis tools and fact-based problem-solving techniques - Proficiency in project management, communication skills, and working collaboratively with peers and key functional areas The above description provides an overview of your responsibilities and qualifications required for the Software Engineer position, focusing on embedded software design and development, technical competencies, and project management skills.
