Senior Shopify Engineer

As a senior Shopify front-end engineer at VML, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence by creating high-performing, accessible, and responsive Shopify themes and reusable components. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with stakeholders and clients to transform complex requirements into seamless user experiences that boost conversions. Your role will involve championing best practices, influencing front-end architecture, and contributing to the mentorship and recruitment of the team. Role Overview: You will be creating high-quality production-ready front-end code, building reusable Shopify components and theme areas. Your responsibilities will include ensuring code quality, unit testing, accessibility, and performance optimization. You will collaborate with various teams to enhance user experiences, drive conversions, and escalate issues when necessary. Additionally, you will have end-to-end ownership of projects, from idea to delivery, as well as ongoing maintenance and scaling. Key Responsibilities: - Create high-quality production-ready front-end code with Shopify - Develop reusable Shopify components and theme areas - Ensure code quality, unit testing, accessibility, and performance optimization - Collaborate with various teams to enhance user experiences and drive conversions - Have end-to-end ownership of projects, including maintenance and scaling - Contribute to the recruitment process by conducting technical tests and team fit assessments Qualifications Required: - Mastery of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (SASS or LESS), and JavaScript (ES6+) - Solid understanding of Agile methodology and experience with the Shopify platform - Extensive testing and debugging abilities, along with knowledge of front-end architecture best practices - Commercial experience with GIT, unit testing, and end-to-end testing tools - Ability to work on large development teams and interact effectively with stakeholders - Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools such as Grunt and webpack - Experience in implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps and building unique solutions At VML, you will have the opportunity to work with exciting brands worldwide while prioritizing your career development and skill growth.
