Senior Civil Engineer Location : Roseville, CA Employment Type: Full-time, On-site, $55- $75/hr A well-established civil engineering consultancy in the Roseville area is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to take a lead role on land development and public infrastructure projects across Northern California. This is a high-impact position for an experienced engineer who enjoys both technical design and mentoring others, while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. In this role, you will: Lead the planning and design of private development projects (residential, commercial, industrial, mixed-use) as well as public works improvements (water, sewer, storm drainage, flood control).

Prepare and oversee technical documents including reports, calculations, and land use/entitlement submittals.

Perform and review civil design and modeling, including grading, earthwork, hydrology, hydraulics, and utility systems.

Provide quality control and guidance to junior engineers and drafters, including oversight of plans and exhibits.

Coordinate directly with clients, local agencies, and subconsultants to move projects from concept through approvals and construction.

Support project delivery tasks such as scopes of work, scheduling, change management, and billing.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field) from an accredited program.

  • Active California Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license.

  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience focused on California land development and/or public infrastructure.

  • Proven expertise in grading, stormwater and flood control design, and water/wastewater systems.

  • Familiarity with California entitlement and permitting processes for development projects.

  • Strong communication skills and comfort representing the firm with agencies, clients, and project partners.

  • Experience with design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and common hydrology/hydraulics software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, stormwater and water system modeling platforms).

  • Tools you may use: AutoCAD Civil 3D for plan production and site design.

  • Microsoft Office for reports, correspondence, and spreadsheets.

  • Industry-standard modeling software for drainage, flood control, and utility systems.

Compensation & benefits

Hourly pay target in the range of approximately $55-$75, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
