Job Description: Limited Energy A (LEA) Limited Energy A (LEA) Technician Location: Portland Metro (Occasional travel outside metro area, planned in advance). Our main office is located in Beaverton, OR Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday On-Call: Rotating weekend on-call schedule for emergency service work About the Role: We are seeking a Licensed Limited Energy A (LEA) Technician to join our growing technical field team. This is a hands-on field role working with a mix of installation, service, troubleshooting, and system commissioning for electronic security systems across commercial and residential environments. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in their work, can operate independently in the field, and has the technical ability to install, service, and troubleshoot complex security systems in real-world conditions. This role is not just installation, you will be responsible for end-to-end system performance, including device configuration, troubleshooting, and coordination with technical support teams when needed. What You'll Do: Install, service, and troubleshoot security systems including:

Access control systems

Video surveillance (CCTV) systems

Intrusion and alarm systems

Fire and life safety systems

Perform system programming, configuration, and commissioning

Diagnose and resolve technical issues in the field (hardware, software, and network-related)

Work with IP-based systems including device connectivity and network troubleshooting

Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and job plans

Perform structured cabling and low-voltage wiring as needed

Communicate clearly with customers, project managers, and internal support teams

Document work performed, system changes, and service outcomes

Participate in rotating weekend on-call schedule for emergency service response

What We're Looking For

  • Required Qualifications Valid Limited Energy A (LEA) license in Oregon, WA 06 a plus!

  • Experience installing and servicing low-voltage security systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in the field

  • Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals (device connectivity, addressing, communication issues)

  • Experience with structured cabling and system wiring

  • Ability to work independently and manage field service calls

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening

  • Experience working in commercial environments or multi-site deployments

  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride in workmanship

  • Preferred Experience Experience with systems such as: DMP

  • Honeywell

  • Bosch

  • Silent Knight

  • Access control platforms

  • CCTV / video management systems

  • Experience with both installation and service/troubleshooting environments

  • Familiarity with: IP device configuration

  • Basic networking (DHCP, DNS, troubleshooting connectivity)

  • Remote diagnostics or programming tools

  • NICET I-III
