SPEL Administrator

Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for Systems Engineer (SPEL / S3D) to join our Engineering Systems team in Chennai. This role will extensively interface with multi-location project execution teams as well as Project Systems personnel across the world. The selected candidates will be expected to work in a multidiscipline, multicultural team environment where the overall success of the project is paramount. Responsible for: Providing support for admin activities in Hexagon (Intergraph ) SPEL / S3DSetting up project systems on SPEL / S3D platforms and ongoing administration Provisioning and supporting Technical Applications Delivery of project systems deliverables on projectsFacilitating electronic data handover to customerDuties include: Coordinate configuration, implementation and utilization of Hexagon Tools S3D / SPEL / SPF to support project and client requirements across the project lifecycle in workshare / distributed environment Able to do Catalogues & Specs and capable of supporting users issues in SPEL / S3D modelling and draftingProvide technical support and guidance to the project team of engineers and designers on the use of the systemsSingle Point of Contact for all system requirements for projects and usersCreate/Setup/Administer project systems resources (e.g. databases, templates, catalogues & specifications, borders & symbols etc.)Promote and support effective methods of producing deliverables and drafting assistance to usersCoordinate with the users from the respective engineering disciplines and support them meet the project deliverables with timeliness and quality Liaise with the relevant teams with regards to interfaces required for data exchange with the client and vendorsFacilitate multi-discipline end user access to implemented systems as requiredFirst line of user support providing solutions for project systems related issues and engaging with IT support team where relevantDevelop customised solutions and reports to meet project and user requirementsDefine, develop and implement system database/file structure with clients and within the projectsCoordinate and implement interfaces with other project systems, including other applicationsCoordinate to resolve interfacing issues and hardware/software issues related to Project SystemsIdentify and research latest versions or potential additions/ alternatives to project systems tools in useAssist in defining, developing and implementing project-specific Work Instructions, Procedures, Standards, Workflows and Templates etc. and participate in new development & enhancements Qualifications Degree in Engineering (4 years) preferably Mechanical / Chemical / Civil / Electrical / Instrumentation5-10 years of total experience in the setup and administration of Hexagon tools (SPEL / S3D) preferably in Oil & Gas industryShould possess knowledge in SPEL / S3D and have exposure to managing global projectsExperienced with the working systems and environment of Hexagon systems used in the execution of projects preferably in Oil & Gas industryKnowledge in Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principlesSkills / Qualifications (Desirable) Possessing working knowledge of programming language like .Net, C#, VB6, and RDBMS like SQL, oracle etc.Basic knowledge of Information Technology in:Server/Desktop Microsoft Windows environment and general office toolsMicrosoft Windows operating system and Active DirectoryIT Infrastructure WAN/LAN etc.Information Security and governance Company Overview Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the worlds most critical challenges.
