As a Data Management / Data Engineering Profile (Intern or Junior Professional) at WSP, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management and transformation of heterogeneous data flows. Your focus will be on handling data from multiple sources and formats, designing automation tools for data processing, and ensuring high-quality data ingestion into a SQL-based application. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in ETL processes, data automation, and applied AI, who are eager to grow in a technically rich and evolving environment. Exposure to environmental data is considered a valuable plus. Responsibilities: - Manage and integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources and formats (e.g., structured, semi-structured, manual inputs). - Design and implement ETL workflows to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes where possible. - Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to improve data reliability, efficiency, and scalability. - Perform manual data entry and data validation activities when automation is not feasible, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. - Load, maintain, and update datasets within an application backed by a SQL database, ensuring adherence to data quality standards. - Support data monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of data pipelines. - Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and propose improvements. - Contribute to exploratory activities related to AI-driven data processing, data enrichment, or intelligent automation use cases. Qualifications: - Required Skills and Qualifications: - Educational background or hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields. - Basic to intermediate knowledge of ETL concepts and data pipelines. - Experience with SQL databases (querying, loading, basic data modeling). - Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language commonly used in data processing (e.g., Python). - Ability to work with data from multiple formats and sources (CSV, Excel, databases, APIs, etc.). - Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and accuracy. - Analytical mindset with problem-solving attitude. - Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team. - Curiosity, passion for data and AI, and willingness to continuously learn and evolve. - Preferred Skills: - Hands-on experience with ETL tools or frameworks (e.g., custom pipelines, open-source or commercial ETL platforms). - Exposure to AI / Machine Learning concepts, especially in relation to data preparation, enrichment, or automation. - Knowledge or experience working with environmental, geospatial, or sustainability-related data. - Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools. - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). - Previous experience in a data-driven project or internship environment.
