About the Team

ZF ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) division designs and manufactures next-generation ECUs for automated driving vehicles. We are looking for qualified and passionate engineer to join our team in building the future of the automotive industry.

What you can look forward to as Optical Engineer:

You will be responsible for the optical design of high-end Cameras for automated driving systems. In particular:

Performing optical tests on a lens, or a camera level as well as on full vehicle installations.

Optical system modelling

Lead/support discussions with customers regarding installation requirements and improvements, and with lens suppliers regarding component specifications.

Support: discussions with algorithm suppliers, global manufacturing locations, ZF global Test & Validation locations, customer engineering staff; support engineering gate reviews and DRBFM, DFMEA, DFM activities.

Support for purchasing teams: formulating requirements for optical components and discussion with suppliers

Design and setup of optical test systems for Test&Validation or production teams.

Analyses of optical test data and preparation of test reports

Publish optical related technical documents (component specifications, internal optical test requirements documents)

Your Profile as Optical Engineer:

Education in optical engineering, physics, mechatronics or related fields

Knowledge of imaging optics and optical laboratory skills

Strong organizational and communication skills

English language competency - both oral and written

Nice to have: 1). Professional experience in optical engineering and/or manufacturing environment, 2). Knowledge of optical simulation tools (Zemax, Code V, OSLO, SPEOS etc.), 3). Knowledge of MTF measurement methodologies (slanted edge, ISO12233), 4). Knowledge of image calibration methodologies for single camera and multiple camera systems
