Job Purpose:

Ensure that products or components being produced in Line meet specified quality standards and to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions, to achieve productivity and quality performance as per set targets.

Principal Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities :

  1. Production Management System (PDCA role)

· Achieve production plan vs. actual as per the monthly production plan in machine shop for aluminum and steel parts.

· Planning adjustments to meet daily requirements.

· Ensure allocation of operators as per skill matrix and work for multi skilling of operators.

· Achieve the OEE as per set targets for the year.

· Ensure daily JH or CLITA of Machines.

· Ensure updates of tooling history card as per the process control plan.

· Train the new operators in OJT.

· Trouble shooting at line in order to achieve production and quality targets.

· Handle the shift independently during shift.

· Ensure production report booking in SAP at end of shift.

· Lead the setup change over planning along-with HOD.

  1. Tooling Management

· Prepare the monthly tooling procurement plan based on set standard

· Always ensure minimum stock of tooling to avoid line loss for tooling shortages.

· Co-ordinate with ME/PE team and tooling suppliers if there are gaps in life shortfall.

· Ensure tooling consumption within budgeted targets and take timely action in case of any gaps. (CAPA if not achieved)

  1. Manpower Management

· Prepare the monthly manpower plan based on set standard meet sales plan of the month.

· Co-ordinate with HR Team in case of any gaps.

· Allocate shift planning for operators and machines deployment plan.

· Ensure manpower wage cost within budgeted targets and take timely action in case of any gaps

  1. Quality Control

· Ensure inspection being carried out by operators as per process control plan & educate the operators for critical feedback related inspection.

· Ensure rejection/rework parts proper storage in respective Std. Bins and location avoid mix up.

· Achieve quality performance as per set target of the year. (Ppk and Customer ctqs)

· Support line inspectors for abnormality correction on real time basis.

  1. Quality Management System

· Participate and ensure all documentation and records mgmt. as per plant quality management system.

· Participate in process audit/product audit as per annual plan.

· Actively participate for establishment of safety management system OHSAS 18001 & Environment Management System ISO 14001, along with Plant HR and Maint. Function.

· Participate in TPM Activities as per plant TPM Structure requirements, for plant manufacturing excellence journey.

  1. Continues Improvement

· Identifying and implementing measures increase productivity, such as cycle time reduction, automation, Process elimination and workflow improvements.

· Identifying improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes related areas for cost reduction, tooling cost reduction, consumable cost reduction, safety improvement, ergonomics and implement Kaizen.

· Manpower reduction by low-cost automation.

  1. Safety Management

· Ensure daily verification of all safety checks, safety Poka Yoke in working condition.

· Continual identification and promotion of process improvements for Safety compliances.

· Ensure use-age of PPE as per norms or SOP.
