As a BMS Application Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of BMS solutions for customer programs. This includes application development, configuration, integration, validation debugging, and field support. Your role will involve close collaboration with firmware and hardware teams, serving as the primary technical interface with customers to ensure stable deployments in real-world conditions. Key Responsibilities: - Own BMS application integration and deployment across customer programs, covering development, testing, production, and field support. - Develop, configure, tune, and validate Simulink (Stateflow) based BMS applications, focusing on states, protections, charge/discharge behavior. - Manage, mentor, and drive execution for a team of Solution/Application Engineers, including task planning, technical guidance, reviews, capability building, and delivery accountability. - Act as the primary technical interface for customer management, leading integration discussions, managing expectations, providing regular technical updates, and driving closure during escalations/trials. - Support vehicle-level integration, including CAN communication, diagnostics, DBC mapping, and system bring-up. - Analyze logs, CAN traces, and test data to conduct structured root-cause analysis (RCA) and drive closure. - Translate customer requirements into clear technical inputs (specs, calibration needs, integration steps) for internal teams. - Coordinate with firmware algorithm, hardware testing, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues end-to-end. - Support customer trials/pilots and handle field escalations with clear ownership and communication. - Ensure solution stability through a validation mindset, regressions checks, and quality gates. Qualifications Required: - Strong fundamentals in embedded systems and system-level debugging. - Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink (Stateflow) and model-based development. - Knowledge of verification and validation methods in Model-Based Development (MBD). - Good understanding of BMS fundamentals such as state machines, protections, charging/discharging, and fault handling. - Familiarity with CAN communication and proficiency in message-level debugging using traces/logs. - Structured problem-solving approach and strong root-cause analysis (RCA) capability. - Effective customer-facing communication skills, including running technical discussions, managing escalations, and aligning stakeholders. - Team leadership and management skills, with the ability to guide engineers through mentoring, reviews, and execution rigor. - Ownership mindset, positive attitude, and strong cross-functional communication skills. - Understanding of EV architecture and components like BMS, chargers, and telematics. Good-to-have Skills: - Exposure to automotive standards/protocols such as ISO 26262, AUTOSAR concepts, J1939, UDS diagnostics, etc. - Familiarity with tools like CANoe, CANalyzer, or equivalent CAN/log analysis setups. The company is looking for individuals with an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach across firmware, algorithms, hardware, testing, and customer teams. You should demonstrate accountability across the solution lifecycle, including field support when required, and an eagerness to learn and adapt in complex real-world system behavior.
