Network & Security Engineer (CA Location)

Midlevel Network & Security Engineer Location: San Francisco, CA Schedule: Onsite 5 days per week Salary : $125k per year (may be negotiable based on experience, education, geo. location and other factors) About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Network Security Engineer to join our client’s team in San Francisco. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's network, security infrastructure, and day-to-day IT operations. You'll be the engineer people are glad to have on the other end of a support ticket. From troubleshooting connectivity issues and managing firewalls to supporting end users and ensuring business-critical systems remain operational, you'll play a key role in keeping our organization running efficiently. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving real-world problems, and prefers troubleshooting and operational support over architecture reviews and long-term design projects. Responsibilities Maintain and support enterprise networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues

Respond to and resolve network, security, and end-user support tickets

Provide IT support for employees using Ubuntu, macOS, and Windows systems

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and system access issues

Assist with network security administration and infrastructure maintenance

Manage user accounts, permissions, and endpoint configurations

Support office technology and general IT operational needs

Document issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure reliable and secure technology services

Required Qualifications CCNP certification desired

5-6 years of hands-on network engineering experience in a production environment

Strong understanding of routing, switching, VPN technologies, and firewall administration

Experience supporting Linux (Ubuntu), macOS, and Windows environments

Experience providing IT end-user support and troubleshooting technical issues

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a ticket-driven environment

Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-service mindset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting network security infrastructure

• Familiarity with enterprise wireless networks

• Experience with endpoint management and system administration

• Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
