Telecom Network Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Houston, TX ( Hybrid – Monday–Thursday onsite, Friday remote ). The ideal candidate must have strong experience in telecom infrastructure design and engineering, including microwave, fiber, transport networks, and critical power systems. Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Telecom Network Engineer job responsibilities include: Design and engineer telecom systems and infrastructure , including microwave networks, OSP fiber, transport systems, and supporting facilities.

Develop and maintain engineering drawings, documentation, and work packages for deployment.

Manage projects from design through implementation handoff , ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

Provide technical support to field teams during installation and deployment activities.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies, products, and materials for system improvements.

Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience in telecom engineering).

Strong experience in telecom infrastructure , including: Microwave (PTP/PTMP, licensed/unlicensed)

OSP Fiber networks

Shelters, towers, racks, and DC power/backup systems

Experience managing multiple telecom projects simultaneously.

Ability to read and develop technical drawings and engineering specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telecom compliance.

• Background in RFP creation, vendor evaluation, and contract support

• Experience with network upgrades, system enhancements, and long-term planning

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills in critical telecom systems

• Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
