About the role
Linux Systems / Cloud Administrator 100% Remote Position Summary The Linux Systems / Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting Linux-based servers and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance. This role works closely with development, networking, and security teams to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot systems in on-premises and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers and operating systems. Manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Monitor system performance, availability, and security, and implement corrective actions as needed. Perform system upgrades, patch management, and routine maintenance. Configure and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Troubleshoot server, application, and network-related issues. Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. Automate routine administrative tasks using shell scripting or automation tools. Support virtualization and container technologies such as VMware, Docker, or Kubernetes, as applicable. Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration records. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure projects. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 36+ years of experience in Linux system administration and cloud infrastructure management. Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar). Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Familiarity with networking concepts, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers. Experience with shell scripting (Bash) and basic automation. Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation). Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools. Experience with configuration management and DevOps practices. Linux or cloud certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, AWS Certified, Azure Administrator, or equivalent) are an advantage.
