About the role
As a Silicone Potting & Encapsulants Specialist, your role will involve developing, evaluating, and qualifying silicone-based thermal management materials for various applications such as electronics, semiconductor, power electronics, and EV battery. You will be responsible for material formulation, characterization, customer support, troubleshooting, and product qualification activities. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with silicone chemistry, encapsulation materials, and thermal interface technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and optimize silicone potting compounds, encapsulants, and thermal management materials. - Design and execute formulation experiments to enhance viscosity, cure behavior, thermal conductivity, dielectric performance, adhesion, and hardness. - Perform material characterization using TGA, DSC, rheology, dielectric testing, and thermal conductivity measurements. - Analyze formulation performance and provide technical recommendations based on test results. - Support customer qualification and validation activities for new material introductions. - Prepare technical documentation including test reports, application notes, material specifications, and technical data sheets. - Troubleshoot material and process issues such as adhesion failures, void formation, delamination, and cure inconsistencies. - Collaborate closely with Field Application Engineers and customers to understand application requirements. - Evaluate raw materials, fillers, and silicone polymers from suppliers. - Support vendor qualification and incoming material inspection activities. - Maintain laboratory records, formulation databases, and compliance documentation. - Participate in product scale-up, manufacturing support, and process optimization initiatives. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. - 3-7 years of relevant experience in silicone-based potting compounds, encapsulants, specialty chemicals, or thermal management materials. - Experience working in industrial R&D, product development, or materials engineering environments. - Strong technical documentation and data analysis capabilities. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external customers.
