Full stack Java Application Engineer

You will be joining the Aladdin Private Markets Engineering team at BlackRock in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. As a Full stack Java Developer, your main responsibilities will include designing, building, testing, and delivering full stack product features for a large-scale SaaS platform. You will work closely with global teams, developing reliable, scalable backend services using Java and related frameworks, building web APIs and services, and developing user-facing capabilities in collaboration with UX and Product partners. Additionally, you will participate in production support, monitoring, incident resolution, and continuously refine engineering methods to achieve high-quality results. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, test, and deliver full stack product features for a large-scale SaaS platform - Work deeply within an existing enterprise codebase, developing a strong understanding of domain concepts - Develop reliable, scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks - Build and consume web APIs and services supporting modern UI and integration patterns - Develop user-facing capabilities using TypeScript / JavaScript, HTML, and CSS - Participate in production support, monitoring, and incident resolution within a cloud-based environment - Refine engineering methods through involvement in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and quality-first delivery - Work closely with QA engineers, product managers, UX designers, and global engineering teams - Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and foster a culture centered on continuous feedback, learning, and progress - Apply advanced tools and techniques to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing efficiency, and development workflows Qualifications: - Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field - 8+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise or customer-focused environments - Strong fluency in spoken and written English Skills & Experience: Core Technical Skills: - Broad hands-on experience in Java object-oriented programming and enterprise frameworks - Solid understanding of RESTful API design, service-oriented and microservice architectures - Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server, including schema design and performance tuning - Experience with TypeScript / JavaScript / HTML / CSS supporting modern web applications - Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular or React) is a plus Architecture & Platform: - Experience building or supporting cloud-native, distributed, microservice-based systems - Experience with AWS and/or Azure, containerization, and service orchestration - Familiarity with SaaS production environments, monitoring, and operational support AI Literacy and Innovation: - Demonstrate strong interest in applying AI to software development - Experience using or building solutions powered by artificial intelligence - Forward-looking approach toward scaling engineering productivity with AI is a plus Ways of Working: - Experience working in Agile (Scrum) teams with emphasis on quality and delivery - Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows, automated testing, and DevOps methods - Ability to independently analyze, extend, and improve existing complex systems Competencies: - Passion for building high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software - Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and self-motivated approach - Interest in financial systems and experience or curiosity around private markets - Ability to translate business requirements into well-architected technical solutions - Comfortable working in an international, diverse, and fast-paced engineering environment BlackRock offers a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, and Flexible Time Off.
