Ruby on Rails Architect

As an experienced Ruby on Rails Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of scalable, high-performance web applications. Your key responsibilities will include: - Defining and driving the overall architecture for Ruby on Rails-based applications. - Designing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. - Leading technical discussions, design reviews, and solutioning with stakeholders. - Mentoring and guiding development teams on best practices, coding standards, and design patterns. - Collaborating with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. - Ensuring code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices. - Optimizing application performance, scalability, and reliability. - Evaluating and recommending new tools, technologies, and frameworks. - Driving cloud adoption (AWS/Azure/GCP) and microservices architecture where applicable. Qualifications required for this role include: - 10 to 15 years of overall software development experience. - 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails. - Strong expertise in system design, architecture patterns, and scalable systems. - Proficiency in RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems. - Experience with databases: PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL (e.g., Redis, MongoDB). - Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred). - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. - Solid knowledge of design patterns, OOP principles, and clean code practices. - Nice to have: Experience with React.js and modern frontend development. You are expected to be a strategic thinker with strong hands-on technical depth, able to balance architecture with execution, and have a passion for mentoring teams and driving engineering excellence.
