Tech Up to 35 years Skills Preferred: - Operating Systems: Proficient in Windows Server (various versions), Windows 10/11. - Active Directory: Understanding of user and group management, Group Policy, and organizational units. - Email Services: Knowledge of O365 email Services and Security - Networking: Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network troubleshooting. - PowerShell: Scripting and automation skills for system management tasks. - Virtualization: Experience with Hyper-V, VMware, or other virtualization technologies. - Backup and Recovery: Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning. - Security: Knowledge of security best practices, firewalls, anti-virus software, and security policies. - Hardware Management: Understanding of server hardware, storage solutions, and troubleshooting. - Cloud Services: Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms. - Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently. - Communication: Clear communication skills to interact with users and team members. - Time Management: Managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively. - Teamwork: Collaborating with other IT staff and departments. - Documentation: Keeping detailed records of systems, processes, and incidents. Experience / Role: - Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator - Strong fundamentals and knowledge of Server Clustering, Virtualization, Backup Solution, DC & DR operation. - Must have excellent troubleshooting and communication skills Certification: - Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, CompTIA Network+, or other specialized credentials can be beneficial. Job Description: - Oversee data centre facilities, server infrastructure, backups, domain controllers, Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, IIS, FTP, and NTP. - Manage file servers, database servers, and other systems required by various business units, including installation, configuration, and administration of Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), server clustering, and virtual server environments (Hyper-V, VMware, etc.). - Handle user management, Group Policy management, and access rights permissions within the AD setup, ensuring AD integration and meeting operational/system availability and performance expectations. - Administer backup solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. - Develop and implement best IT practices for server hardening and performance monitoring. - Provide support for current application implementations, administration, and monitoring. - Coordinate with vendors for software tool implementation, administration, licensing, and utilization. - Manage email solutions, including Office 365 and other email systems. - Conduct patch management and perform security audits, such as Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), for all servers, databases, and web-facing applications. - Audit the data centre facilities and assess their requirements. - Perform compute headroom sizing, design solutions, and ensure implementations in the data center comply with best practices and audit requirements. - Liaise with regional Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) to maintain inventory and conduct audits of server room facilities at each location. - Maintain oversight of all servers, databases, and applications. - Ensure system availability and manage small to medium-sized projects based on business requirements. - Assist in technology planning for upcoming project needs. - Identify utilization patterns and their impact on system availability and performance expectations. - Maintain documentation for both physical and virtual infrastructure setups. - Manage and keep records of licenses, Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), agreements, and renewals. - Possess knowledge of ITIL processes, including problem, incident, and change management. - Independently conduct various security audits. - Staying updated on the latest Windows technologies, trends, and security threats.
