Senior Engineer, Relay Protection - Central Engineering, P&C Standards

Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 8 years of engineering work experience. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required. or Master's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 6 years of engineering work experience. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required.

Relevant Work Experience A minimum of three years of relevant experience in relay protection and/or control systems engineering disciplines, required. Excellent communication skills, the ability to champion change, and the capacity to influence others to improve management processes, required. Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required. Experience with microprocessor relay platforms and related configuration software, required. Working knowledge of IEC61850, preferred. Industry involvement with EPRI, NATF and other organizations on relay applications, preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Driver's License Required

Additional Physical Demands The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to travel throughout the company service territory and work at company locations as needed. Ability to wear the required PPE as needed. Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, and in all weather conditions. Ability to work in power plants and high voltage substations.
